THE STONERIVER SCOOP
Best Places to Work in Multifamily Survey Launches July 28!
It’s that time again! StoneRiver is proud to participate in the Best Places to Work in Multifamily® program for the sixth consecutive year—and we need your voice.
Why does it matter? This annual survey gives every team member the opportunity to share honest feedback about what makes StoneRiver special and where we can continue to improve. Your input helps shape our culture, strengthen our workplace, and ensure we’re building an environment where everyone can thrive.
We’ve achieved incredible results together. Over the years, StoneRiver has consistently ranked among the industry’s top employers because of one thing: our people. Every survey completed helps tell the story of who we are and what sets us apart.
Watch your inbox on July 28. You’ll receive an email from Surveys@BestCompaniesGroup.com with the subject line: “Best Places to Work in Multifamily® – Employee Survey”
The survey takes just a few minutes, but the impact lasts all year. Your participation directly influences our rankings and provides valuable insights that help leadership continue making StoneRiver an exceptional place to work.
Bottom line: When the survey arrives, take a few minutes to complete it. Your voice matters, and together we can continue raising the bar.
Thank you for helping make StoneRiver one of the best places to work in multifamily!
Property Operational Tips
Heat Safety & Awareness: Beat the Heat Wave
Temperatures across much of the U.S. are soaring. With prolonged heat waves affecting many of our markets, it’s important that all on-site teams—especially maintenance professionals working outdoors—take extra precautions.
Know the warning signs:
- Heat exhaustion: Heavy sweating, dizziness, headache, nausea, weakness, or cool, clammy skin.
- Heat stroke: Confusion, loss of consciousness, hot dry skin, or body temperature above 103°F. Heat stroke is a medical emergency—call 911 immediately.
Protect yourself by following these simple steps:
- Hydrate often. Drink water throughout the day—even if you don’t feel thirsty.
- Take scheduled cool-down breaks. Use shaded or air-conditioned spaces whenever possible.
- Dress for the weather. Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and sun protection.
- Plan smart. When possible, schedule strenuous outdoor work during cooler morning hours.
- Look out for one another. Team members should regularly check in with coworkers working outside.
- Remember: No task is worth heat stroke. Stay cool, stay hydrated, stay safe out there.
This Month’s Celebrations
America Turns 250!
This July 4th is extra special — the United States turns 250 years old. That’s a quarter-millennium of fireworks, BBQs, and questionable backyard firework decisions. However you celebrate, take a moment to soak in the milestone.
Fun fact: the Declaration of Independence wasn’t actually signed on July 4 — most delegates signed it nearly a month later. History’s full of plot twists.
It's National Ice Cream Month
July is National Ice Cream Month—and honestly, we’re all for it. Yes, it’s an official thing — Congress declared July National Ice Cream Month in 1984.
A few scoops of trivia:
- The average American eats about 20 pounds of ice cream each year.
- Vanilla remains America’s favorite flavor.
- It takes approximately 50 licks to finish a single scoop of ice cream.
- Brain freeze has an actual scientific name: sphenopalatine ganglioneuralgia. (We’ll stick with “brain freeze!”)
How to celebrate: Treat yourself to a cone, host an office ice cream social, or just use it as an excuse for dessert before dinner. We won’t judge
Back-to-School Supply Drive: July 13–17

StoneRiver's Annual Company-Wide Bowling Event Returns!
Who’s ready to roll? National Bowling Day may not officially arrive until August, but StoneRiver isn’t waiting that long to start the fun.
Our 6th Annual Company-Wide Bowling Event kicks off in July, with some teams finishing competition in August. This annual tradition has become one of our favorite opportunities to connect, laugh, and engage in a little friendly competition.
Whether you’re a seasoned bowler or proudly throw a few gutter balls, everyone is encouraged to participate.
Start practicing now! Who will take home this year’s bowling crown?
We can’t wait to see teams across StoneRiver lace up their bowling shoes and hit the lanes.

Mid-Year Check-In: Finish 2026 Strong
July marks the halfway point of the year. It’s the perfect time to pause and reflect on your goals, accomplishments, and professional development.
Ask yourself:
- What achievements am I most proud of so far this year?
- What goals still need attention?
- What new skills would help me grow professionally?
Take advantage of conversations with your manager.
Mid-year discussions are a great opportunity to celebrate wins, seek feedback, and identify ways to continue developing throughout the remainder of the year.
Don’t forget your well-being.
Summer schedules can get busy quickly. Be sure to use available PTO, recharge when needed, and prioritize work-life balance.
A reminder from HR:
Please review and update any personal information, emergency contacts, or benefit information if changes have occurred during the year.
Small actions today can set you up for a successful finish to 2026!
