THE STONERIVER SCOOP
Back to Routine. Back to Balance.
August brings a fresh start. Whether you have children heading back to school or you’re simply saying goodbye to summer, this time of year is a natural opportunity to reset routines and refocus on what matters most.
Small changes make a big difference. As calendars become busier, try easing into the season by planning meals ahead, preparing for the week on Sunday evenings, and creating a consistent sleep schedule. A little planning now can reduce stress later.
Don’t forget yourself. Between work responsibilities, family schedules, and community commitments, it’s easy to put your own well-being last. Make time for a walk, lunch away from your desk, or a few quiet moments to recharge throughout the day.
Stay connected. The return to school also means a return to community events, resident activities, and team collaboration. It’s a great time to reconnect with coworkers, welcome new residents, and continue creating the positive experiences that define StoneRiver.
Here’s to a strong season ahead. Fall is one of the busiest times of the year in our industry. By establishing healthy routines now, you’ll be better prepared to finish the year with confidence, energy, and success.
Property Operational Tips
Budgeting Starts with a Strong Foundation
Budget season is around the corner. While planning for a new year can seem overwhelming, remember that you don’t have to start from a blank page.
Your property’s history tells a story. Previous budgets and actual financial performance provide valuable insight into spending patterns, recurring expenses, and operational trends. Using that information as your starting point creates a more accurate and efficient planning process.
Build from what you know. Once you’ve established your baseline, begin considering the changes you already anticipate. Whether it’s expected rent growth, operational adjustments, staffing changes, or vendor contract updates, incorporating known information early helps create a realistic financial plan.

This Month’s Celebrations
The Calm Before the School Bell
August signals a shift. The long days of summer begin winding down, vacations come to an end, and families everywhere prepare for the excitement of a new school year.
For many of our team members, the coming weeks will be filled with school supply shopping, classroom visits, sports schedules, and adjusting to earlier mornings.
A few back-to-school survival tips:
📅 Prepare lunches and backpacks the night before.
⏰ Start adjusting bedtime routines a little earlier each week.
🛒 Complete school shopping before the last-minute rush.
☕ Give yourself a little extra grace during those first few weeks of transition.
Whether you’re sending a child to kindergarten, college, or simply enjoying a quieter commute once school resumes, we hope August brings a smooth transition and an exciting start to a new season.
Rolling Toward the Finish Line
What a great turnout! Our 6th Annual Company-Wide Bowling Event has once again brought together teams from across StoneRiver for an evening of friendly competition, laughter, and team building.
Some offices wrapped up their events in July, while others will finish in August—and we can’t wait to see who earns this year’s bragging rights.
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make another company tradition a success. We love seeing our teams connect outside the office and celebrate the relationships that make StoneRiver such a special place to work.

Are You Up to Date on Your Vaccines?
Every August, National Immunization Awareness Month promotes the importance of immunizations at all life stages. Vaccination protects against severe illnesses and complications of vaccine-preventable diseases, including measles, polio, hepatitis, meningococcal meningitis, and COVID-19.
Vaccinations are so vital that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention offer immunization schedules to help you understand if you or others are up to date on shots:
- Infants and children (birth to age 6)
- Preteens and teens (ages 7-18)
- Adults (ages 19 and older)
- Pregnant people (before, during, and after pregnancy)
Getting vaccines at the recommended time is the best way to protect against serious diseases. If you’re behind on routine vaccinations, consider getting vaccinated as soon as possible. Your doctor can offer personalized guidance and provide more information about vaccines. Flu season is right around the corner, so pharmacies and clinics may soon begin getting this year’s shots
