This Month’s Celebrations
Earth Day
For 55 years, Earth Day has helped people become aware of and take action on important environmental issues. We focus on keeping our planet healthy, including our air, oceans, soil, ecosystems, wildlife, and human health. Earth Day 2025 will fall on Tuesday, April 22, and this year’s theme is “Our Power, Our Planet.” As Earth Day celebrates its 55th anniversary on April 22, 2025, 192 countries and over one billion people around the world are expected to participate. This demonstrates that the Earth Day movement remains as committed today as it was in 1970 to unite people for a better future.
Earth Day reminds us of the call from hundreds of thousands of people to create a global partnership to act, innovate, and protect the environment. This includes companies, governments, and citizens, all of whom share responsibility.
Service Day
StoneRiver’s Annual Service Day takes place in the month of April. It is always a great time to give back to the community and have a little fun with your team members. We can’t wait to see those pictures in the May issue of the StoneRiver Scoop.
National Pet Month Coming Up
It’s time to show your pet some extra love and appreciation for National Pet Month, which begins on May 1! Did you know that about 80 million homes in America have an animal family member? And about half of those households have more than one. We want to celebrate how important our pets are by showcasing them in our next newsletter! Send in your pet photos, along with the pet’s name, and we will be sure to show off your best friend in our newsletter!
Property Operational Tips
World Day for Safety and Health at Work
Every year, World Day for Safety and Health at Work is observed to raise awareness about the importance of workplace safety and health. This year, in 2025, the spotlight is on the impact of digitalization and artificial intelligence (AI) on workers’ well-being. With rapid advancements in technology, the workplace is evolving faster than ever before. While these innovations bring new opportunities, they also raise concerns about safety, health, and the future of work itself.
These innovations are revolutionizing industries and changing how people work. Whether it’s a robot taking over repetitive tasks, a remote worker communicating through virtual reality, or an AI system assisting in decision-making, technology is deeply embedded in today’s work environments. However, it’s essential to understand how these new technologies can affect workers’ safety and health.Â
As workplaces evolve with AI, robotics, exoskeletons, and remote work, these technologies bring both opportunities and challenges. While automation enhances efficiency and reduces physical strain, it also introduces new risks, such as cybersecurity threats, mental health concerns, and ergonomic issues. This theme emphasizes the need for proactive safety measures, updated regulations, and worker training to ensure technology-driven workplaces remain safe, inclusive, and healthy for all employees in the digital era.
