Marketing Assets for 2025
Branding is the essence of a company. It’s how companies create consistency and brand recognition with customers and prospective clients. Most people can look at the colors red and yellow and immediately think of McDonald’s. Imagine if McDonald’s had changed their logo throughout the years, would the iconic yellow arches still be familiar to audiences? In order to maintain an unwavering brand identity, McDonald’s has brand guidelines in place to keep things dialed in even when there might be too many cooks in the kitchen (pun intended).
As we begin a new year, I would like to remind everyone in our organization about the significance of following our branding guidelines. Consistency in branding is a crucial element in building a strong brand identity that connects with our target audience. To make things easier for you, I have prepared our branding toolbox, which contains all the necessary assets, such as logos, fonts, colors, and other graphic elements that you will need to create branded materials. By using the branding toolbox, you can guarantee that all your communications align with our brand guidelines and communicate a consistent message to our customers.

Life Event Changes
Life always brings change! Whether it’s getting married or becoming a parent, you might need to update your benefit selections, so we wanted to provide the information below to guide you through the process.
When can I change my benefits?
Most benefit elections are made during annual Open Enrollment each fall or when you are a new hire and remain in effect until you make changes. If you experience a Qualified Life Status Change, you can make limited changes to your benefits within 30 days of the event. If your change isn’t reported within 30 days of your event, you must wait until the next Open Enrollment period to update your elections.
Examples of Qualified Life Status Changes:
- Change in legal marital status.
- Change in the number of dependents.
- Change in dependent status, such as a dependent losing coverage under another plan.
Home Address Changes
Changes to your home address can be made directly through the Landrum Employee Portal, or you can send your updated address to Christie Smith at csmith@stonerivercompany.com.
Tax Withholding Changes
Changes to your allowances or exemptions for federal and state taxes can be made at any time through the Landrum Employee Portal.
Health-Related Event
If you experience a health-related event that will require time away from work, please reach out to Human Resources to discuss your rights under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). In addition, you might qualify for personal leave and disability pay through our employer-paid short-term disability plan.
Special New Year Section
It’s the new year, and that means a new you! Right? Every new year, millions of people set New Year’s resolutions, but most will be abandoned by February. How do we stay on track and meet those goals that we so desperately want to achieve? First, raise your hand if you set the same goals every year. I bet a lot of people are raising their hands. We don’t set goals that we don’t want to achieve. We set goals with no plan, with no known meaningfulness behind them, and with “loopholes.” This year, we want to help you achieve your goals, and to help, we have compiled the top tips for motivation, money, mental health, productivity, and more!
5 tips to start your new year the right way
Do a self-review. You do it for your career, so why not apply a self-review to your life? Take a moment to consider how the past year went for you. Hopefully, in 2024, you were able to find time to accomplish the goals you set for yourself at the beginning of the year. Ask yourself what personally went well and what you’d like to improve as the new year begins. What new skills or relationships did you develop that were a bright point in your year? What caused you to stress this year? A self-review like this can help you better understand the highs and lows of the last year and set a precedent for a great year ahead.
Clean up. Similar to a fresh to-do list, starting the year off with a tidy space can help you mentally prepare for the new year. Whether you simply pick up your area or do a deep clean is up to you, but the effects can be great. Studies show that a clean space is associated with more positive emotions, like happiness, satisfaction, and calm.
Set new goals. Of course, the new year is the perfect time to set some new goals for yourself. Make SMART goals, meaning they are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-based. All of these qualities help make a goal easier for you to accomplish, setting you up for more success in the future.
Top 3 tips for a more productive 2025
Take a Long, Hard Look at Your Calendar. The new year is a perfect time to review your recurring meeting schedule. Begin by assigning all your recurring meetings a rating in terms of importance. “1” means it’s absolutely that you attend. “5” means it doesn’t matter whether you’re there. Once you’ve rated all your meetings, try declining your “5”s and see how much Focus Time that opens up.
Time Block Your Calendar. Once you get a little more wiggle room in your schedule, you must decide how to use that extra time. Time blocking is when you prioritize your task list, estimate how much time each task will take, and proactively assign blocks of time on your calendar to each task.
Create New Healthy Work Routines. Establishing daily routines and sticking to them to create comfort and stability.
February Celebrations
February is American Heart Month!
February is American Heart Month, a time when the nation spotlights heart disease, the number one killer of Americans.
Heart disease occurs when the arteries leading to the heart become clogged. Although it has existed for thousands of years, many aspects of modern life exacerbate risk factors and make people more prone to heart disease and heart failure. Today, one in four deaths in the U.S. is attributable to heart disease. Although heart disease can affect everyone, taking stock of your prior health risks, activities, and diet can help you reduce your risk.
In most cases, heart disease is preventable by adopting a healthy lifestyle. This includes not smoking, maintaining a healthy weight, controlling blood sugar and cholesterol, treating high blood pressure, engaging in at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity a week, and getting regular checkups.
To celebrate American Heart Month, take some time to learn about heart health risks, find your favorite heart-healthy activities, and cook some healthy meals with your family.
Valentine's Day
When February 14 comes along, we can expect to exchange messages of love through thoughtful cards, flower bouquets, and heart-shaped boxes of chocolate. While these actions are small, they’re sure to make your loved one’s heart skip a beat. Here are some interesting Valentine’s Day facts that will make the holiday more fun.
- The first Valentine was sent in the 15th century.
- Not until the 1840s did we get the first mass-produced valentines.
- The tradition of giving Valentine’s Day flowers dates back to the 17th century.
- Nearly 250 million roses are grown in preparation for Valentine’s Day each year.
- Americans send 145 million Valentine’s Day cards each year.
- The first heart-shaped box of chocolates was introduced in 1861.
- Conversation hearts got their start as medical lozenges.
- More than 8 billion conversation hearts are manufactured each year.
- Four states have a city named Valentine.
